Hamilton Pastoral Museum May Rally
Each May, the Hamilton Pastoral Museum comes alive with the sights and sounds of farming history in action. Across the working paddock, a remarkable range of horticultural, market garden, and small farm machines are put through their paces. Enthusiasts from across the region gather to take part, bringing their classic tractors and implements to demonstrate techniques of soil tilling and cultivation.
Visitors are invited to wander the museum's recreated streetscape, where period buildings and extensive collections offer a window into rural life of decades past. Explore fascinating displays of bygone machinery, traditional farming practices, and skills from lost trades.
Throughout the day, the miniature railway carries passengers of all ages, vintage cars are on show, and talented woodturners share their craft. The grand parade at 2pm on both Saturday and Sunday is a highlight, with machines and vehicles rolling our for all to see. Fresh, hearty food is available from the museum kitchen all day, making this a welcoming day out for families, history buffs, and anyone curious about the region's rural heritage.
