The Forge Pizzeria

The Forge Pizzeria is a wood-fired pizza restaurant and casual Italian-style eatery known for its focus on fresh, local ingredients and handcrafted pizzas. It was started by brothers Tim and Chris Matthews, and the name pays homage to their great-grandfather, a blacksmith — hence The Forge, where heat and craft create great food. The Forge Pizzeria can be found in the old C.V. Jones of Armstrong Street building. The restaurant is a spacious industrial space with exposed brick walls with seating for around 200 people. It offers a relaxed, friendly vibe - perfect for groups, familes, friends, and casual meet ups. The food and menu highlights include wood-fired pizzas made with dough that's aged for at least 48 hours, giving a tasty base to gourmet toppings such as slow-cooked lamb, seafood, Merridith goat's cheese, or pumpkin (including Gluten Free and Vegan options). They also have a licensed drinks list with a strong focus on local Victorian wines and independent craft beers as well as some Italian favourites to pair with the pizzas. And a cocktail/mocktail list to suit everyone's taste.
