Brisbane Customs House
Customs House, one of Brisbane's most recognisable heritage buildings, sits on the Brisbane River in the CBD. Completed in 1889, it once served as the city's principal customs collection point, where duties were levied on goods arriving from overseas and from other Australian colonies.
Today the beautifully restored building is operated by The University of Queensland as a cultural, educational and heritage venue. Behind the grand Corinthian columns are elegant boardrooms and a striking domed ballroom.
At river level, Patina at Customs House occupies part of the former Queen's Warehouse. Dine inside amongst heritage surrounds or outside on the terrace overlooking the river. A range of function spaces is also available for corporate and private events for up to 350 guests.
