Ipswich Art Gallery

Ipswich Art Gallery has something for everyone – and no two visits will be the same! Located in the heart of the CBD, Ipswich Art Gallery's beautifully restored heritage building blends history with cutting-edge creativity. Occupying the building that was the first town hall built in Queensland, the Gallery is a cultural hub for locals and visitors alike. The Gallery presents a year-round, dynamic mix of contemporary exhibitions, heritage displays, engaging public programs, school holiday activities, and interactive family-friendly exhibitions. Rotating inhouse and touring exhibitions showcase creatives from the Ipswich region, as well as nationally and internationally significant artists. A calendar of hands-on workshops, artist talks, and up lates bring our innovative exhibition program to life. Ipswich Art Gallery also takes play seriously. The first of its kind in the country, the dedicated Children's Gallery gives kids and their families an exciting and safe space to explore and interact with arts concepts. Our renowned, industry-recognised children's program encourages lifelong relationships with art. Also located in the d'Arcy Doyle precinct, Ipswich Art Workshop features an inspiring calendar of artist-run workshops and artist-in-residence programs, and Ipswich Community Gallery hosts diverse exhibitions from emerging, community, and established artists and arts groups. Ipswich Art Gallery has free admission and is open seven days a week. Check our website for periodic exhibition installation closures.
