Chinchilla is well known for the Chinchilla Watermelon Festival, which is held bi-annually and this great icon is perfect for Chinchilla. A national online travel company competition to build a new 'Big Thing', saw Chinchilla's bid for a Big Melon slice beat three other finalists for an oversized tourist attraction.
