The name Yarrila (pronounced YA-re-la) is a Gumbaynggirr word meaning illuminate, brighten or light up—reflecting YAM's vision to shine a light on art, history, culture and community creativity. YAM features five exhibition spaces showcasing a diverse program of art, social history and natural history exhibitions. At its heart is Yaamanga Around Here, a fascinating permanent exhibition exploring the people, stories and identity of the Coffs Coast through objects, artworks and multimedia displays.
