Sawpit Campground
This well-equipped campground and day visitor area in Mount Clay State Forest – four hours west of Melbourne - is a short drive from the delightful coastal town of Portland.
With access to Whalers Lookout Walk and the popular Mount Clay mountain bike tracks, it offers a range of recreational activities. It is great for families looking for an adventurous day out or a weekend away.
In the day visitor section of the site, you will find everything you need for a relaxing picnic including a picnic shelter, picnic tables and barbecues. There is one toilet block, which is shared with campers.
The large, open campground is suitable for tents, caravans and camper vans, with wide roads and gates and a relatively flat landscape. There are barbecues, picnic tables, firepits and a toilet block shared with day visitors.
Sawpit has partial disabled access and is suitable for large groups.
The popular Mount Clay Mountain Bike track circuit includes bike tracks designed for children (pump track). The track network has been divided into sectors and is suitable for a range of riding abilities.
