"Inhabiting Change" is an exploration of the nature of impermanence, inviting you to see the present not as a static destination, but as the dynamic space between what was and what will be. Fiona Heard's artistic process is an exploration into this continuous process of becoming. Heard begins with the unpredictable nature of hand printing, embracing the unexpected marks and reduced control to create the initial imagery. The composition of these initial works is based on the landscape of Southern NSW, reflecting Heard's memory and ongoing relationship with this environment. Their final artworks are built through configuration: tearing, combining, and sewing the images to produce the work. These artworks move beyond representation, evoking a feeling of abstracted familiarity.
