North Richmond Community Festival

North Richmond is known for its diversity, resilience and creativity. This festival builds on that spirit, creating space for neighbours to gather, families to spend time together, and artists to share their work with a broad community audience. Alongside the music program, community groups and local services will host stalls and information tables. Food will be provided by local caterers and a Halal barbecue. The stage will feature the sounds of The Public Opinion Afro Orchestra, Ajak Kwai, Afro Moses, Deadly Mase, and 2Fiddle.Strings. Yarra Youth Hub DJs will keep the energy high throughout the afternoon, alongside showcase performances including youth dancers led by Faaiza in celebration of Eid. The festival opens with an Acknowledgement of Country by Uncle Robbie Thorpe, who will also perform later in the evening as part of The Public Opinion Afro Orchestra. The event is supported by the Victorian State Government through the North Richmond Precinct Initiative, which invested in the development of Djerring Ganbu Quo-yung Marra Gathering Place in 2024. With additional support from the City of Yarra, including a Climate Response Grant, organisers are partnering with Green My Plate to deliver a low-waste event.
